The greatest archmage from the beginning
The year is 2044. Avarice Online is released as the biggest breakthrough in the Virtual Reality industry. Featuring an open-world concept and open ideas, Avarice isn't just a game with a predetermined storyline. This world lives and evolves entirely through the actions of its players. Everything within it—from the natural ecosystem to the NPCs—is managed by a central AI called L.U.N.A., which maintains the world's balance and laws unwaveringly.
For millions of people, this absolute freedom is an opportunity to build a name, conquer monsters, and dominate the economy. But for Kaindra Hugo—a former pro gamer now exhausted by the exhaustion of his final semester thesis—Avarice is simply an escape. He doesn't care about quests or combat. His goal is simple: to find peace and enjoy the simulated nature while resting his brain.
However, his academic instincts are hard to suppress. While other players are busy hunting monsters in the forest, Hugo sits on the edge of a cliff, observing wind patterns. He wonders how well Avarice's engine mimics the real world. Using a beginner's notebook, he began calculating air variables, pressure, and analyzing the energy anomalies of "Nothingness" as the wind stopped blowing.
Unbeknownst to him, Avarice's open-ideas system was working too well. LUNA processed Hugo's physics calculations not as system errors, but as valid logical input for developing the world.
A small spark appeared on the tip of his index finger, followed by a system notification that changed the foundation of Avarice forever: the [MAGE] class was officially created.
Hugo stared at the small flame with a straight face and a long sigh. He had purely wanted to heal and escape his supervisor, but why did the game system think he was designing a new law of nature?
