Varo wakes up in Ch'maka forest, a steampunk world where magic and advanced technology collide, thanks to an unnatural twist of fate. He becomes a living anomaly—a soul out of place. The Setta, god-like beings trying to reshape existence, have chosen Varo to join their ranks. However, their interest in him is not benevolent; completing their pentagram sigil could spark a cycle of new gods, endangering the multiverse's fragile balance. As Varo struggles to navigate a village brimming with secrets, a magic school rife with peril, and a team of misfit heroes, he must confront his own despair, unravel the mysteries of his new reality, and battle sinister forces who recognize him as a threat to their twisted plans. But betrayal runs deep in this world, too, and the cost of trusting the wrong ally may be the destruction of everything—and everyone—he comes to love.
