I just picked this back up again, and I’ve officially finished the main storyline! The characters are really thought out and given time to develop and grow. We also got a side couple, which is always great! Despite liking Yun Xiu a lot, my favorite character would have to be Li Mo, followed by Zhong Mu as a close second. I’m just a sucker for Li Mo’s personality, and is very different to most of the cold distant gongs in a lot of novels. He’s expressive, energetic, and just plain adorable. 10/10, would definitely cuddle those tentacles, though I doubt he’d let me. T^T Anyways, I’m also really impressed by the world building, how the instances came to be and the truth behind them was a new twist I didn’t expect, and is the first time I’ve seen infinite flow written that way. However, it did dampen the dark aspects of the novel and lessened the stakes a bit too low for my liking. But that’s probably my inner murderhobo talking. Besides that, I think the take on the monstrosities was really interesting, though I predicted some of the truth beforehand, it was still entertaining to read. In conclusion, I had a lot of fun reading this, and if anyone else wants to read it too, the link is in the comment sections!
Alright everyone, just got back from reading the rest of the missing story, and I’d like to say, extremely entertaining read. The main couple is lowkey very toxic but in a way where it makes sense and makes me love their dynamic even more. It like the enemies to lovers trope but toxic, which given their personalities, makes too much sense. Both are perfect for each other, in their violent, tsundere, yet loving relationship, and I wouldn’t want it any other way. I’d say my favorite out of the main couple would be Jiang Luo, mostly because I relate to him in a lot of aspects, even the murderous parts. But my favorite character is Teng Bi, because I just love me some adorably innocent characters. I also lowkey ship him with Luo Yi a bit, I could just feel it in my bones. Anyways, if anyone is reading this review, I’m linking where I found the novel in comments for the ones still waiting for this to update.
Oh shit he’s still alive?
Oh, I, um, oh indeed
Ah yes misogyny, a tale as old as time
And being turned into a Michelin four course meal no less
And the greatest delivery monkey
Ah yes, a tale as old as time
