It is called a magazine or mag for short. Unless he is shooting a M1 Grand or a few other firearms from around or prior to the WWII era, 95% or better of semiautomatic firearms and even bolt action use MAGAZINES! NOT CLIPS! Pump action shotguns mostly use tube magazines or tubes. Sorry for my rant. It is just a pet peeve of mine seeing/hearing people use the wrong terminology for firearms. Though it does help me weed out actual threats. Because if i hear someone call a mag a clip, then I know that they are more of a danger to themselves then they are to me.
