Every day without Chung Myung mentioned...
Except it's worse, because Tang Bo knew CM was extremely strong (and was worried since CM discarded his own personal well-being because of that,) but he at least had some sense of security that CM would at the very least survive whether or not he was there. but for CM, these guys are little babies with a time bomb strapped on their backs...... they could blow up any minute if he's too late to save them 😭😭😭
Chung Myung trains the others as soon as the sun rises, trains himself at some unpresented time in the day (not shown often, but probably daily occurrence), drinks a lot of alcohol, and besides eating or wtv... that's genuinely his only down-time outside of crazy plot events and him being in a coma or on the verge of death?????? Which is crazy! Sure, he thinks about his dead family and stares at the sky, or something. And drinks for like three hours and sleeps somewhere, But that's hardly a break, isn't it? Sounds more torturous than relaxing...... Actually, it's kind of weird CM's actual life or POV isn't really described at all. We don't really know what he's thinking 80% of the time, but he's doing it. From a readers' perspective: CM's routine is really pitiful... Plot --> alcoholic --> almost dead --> training all day --> Plot Biga, are you projecting here?
Rereading this because Book 2 intimidates me.. 🥳
Crazy enough, I feel like that's genuinely the best ending I can think of, too... I have a feeling he might not be able to even GO to the afterlife. He'll probably just perish. It's too OOC for Biga to make something simple, nothing can be too easy...
Great chapter! Thank you for the wonderful translations! I really love Chung Myung, and it's become increasingly clear that Biga is intentionally having him decay, in more than one sense. It's really painful, but written deliciously. It's like going to god's cuisine... But everything is devilishly spicy, and you've got the spice tolerance of a English man in his 80's that also happens to be lactose intolerent.
Yup, demonic possession recoil. He possesses a dead body, so now having exhausted his pure qi, his body is dying like it was supposed to. Biga, just kill me already, okay? I can't take any more of this...
Does his resurrection have something to do with thee heavenly demon? It's obvious, so I guessed as much. But how does this inflict CM's physical health? It's can't be entirely stress, because he's been coughing blood since WAY earlier in the novel, like manhwa chapter points of the novel. Maybe the sicker he gets, the closer the demon is? Since the demonic sects' presence is supposed to wear down the mental and physical health? Kind of matches up to CM's situation right now.
Now it's confirmed, all I can say is, what the hell Biga?!?? It's pretty much confirmed at this point. It's been implied over and over, every time this Dalai guy appears. Isn't the only time a light rests, when it's put out? Doomed CM confirmed. After he finds his light, he'll be able to eternally rest, huh... I genuinely cannot see a happy ending for CM here, and death is an open ending, not a happy one! He'll basically be alone until he reunites with his family at the pearly gates. Or if he can even go to the afterlife. There's definitely some big sacrifice here that I KNOW Chung Myung is going to have to give up. Sure, it's a given his life is one thing he'll need to give up, but obviously there's more to it. Given he died before, but Cheonma still came back. What the hell Biga, do you want me to die in sadness? Do you secretly have a grudge on CM, or something? What is the grand plot? Friendship is magic, CM glues the sects together like a bowling ball and smushes it real good so it stays put, unites the HCA and Evil Sect to defeat the heavenly demon, and dies like a hero???
YES THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUU
