I fully agree. I had this problem since tanks were shown in this novel. Tanks could be easily more tanky than heavy mechs, but for some reason are paper thin and require more than one person to control. I get that mechs are more responsive and what not, but lack of usage of other weapons and armor except in desperation is really bothering me.
Hacker mechs existed under the category of auxiliary mechs. While they usually weren't armed, their frames were packed with auxiliary modules that were geared towards codebreaking, jamming, communication, sabotage and other cyber warfare functions. - Zutyro2yrCommented
