It was typical for genre but fun read in the beginning. Betrayal, mysterious parents, powerful mcguffin. I enjoyed it. Character who is strong willed but not blood maniac who eradicates family with chickens and dogs. He is smart to be patient with revenge and not risk his life uselessly, But more and more I read, the more frustrating reading becomes. Let's go. 1)The hashtags says harem and romance. Don't believe. There is none. Yes, the MC surrounded by numerous woman. But that's it. After 450 chapters there is no progress. Even with just one girl there is none. Author makes excuse that MC after suffering from betrayal is not ready for relationships. And yet author CONSTANTLY adds NEW and NEW woman. For what? For decorations? At the moment there at least 10 girls that are interested in MC. And there is no chemistry between them, no development. They just one sidedly likes MC just because he is MC. I thought couple of times that maybe now we will see some development but author immediately ignores it, like when one of the girls almost sacrificed her life for MC. You would expect MC after seeing it will have the change of heart and finally realized his true feelings for her. NOPE. After some not even so satisfying revenge (SPOILER////////he wasn't even able to kill the guy///////SPOILER), he saves her and nothing. He leaves her without second thought. They are still friends. And considering that author just added another fricking girl I don't see any hope for normal relationships for MC in the near future. 2)Retconing the story. I lost the count how many times character solves the situation by method/skill/tool he received behind the scenes after the fact. One time he used some talisman and author explained that MC received it from a girl he randomly meet before parting with her. Even so in the meeting itself there was NO MENTION about it whatsoever. They just said goodbye and that's it, nothing else. And it happened like literally few chapters before the usage scene. Numerous time we found out that MC received new ability only after the fact. 3)Translation is fine most of the time but still frustrating. One time character is the 3rd level of his realm. Next few chapters he makes a breakthrough. Few chapter later he is 3rd level again. And this happens all the time. I still not so sure is Zhao Rushi woman or man, this is how ofter "he" switched to "she" 4)MC became to OP and it makes his leveling boring, inconsistent and not interesting. When he needs improvement he just... do it. Needs new talisman print? No, problem, couple of days of observation, few sentences and done. Need to improve new skill? Just sit in front of column and after a few days he is finished. And opportunity to sit in front of it was just gifted to him. He didn't fought for it, he didn't sought it. It just happened. Almost all the time instead of cultivation and progress itself we see only final results without any details. At best author explained, that MC learned this or that in that or this period of time because of this or that reason. Great. Sometimes MC have opportunity to improve himselfs only to limit it, because of the fear of unstable foundation. And yet, in other situations he levels up two or three times in a row. And there is no logic. It is just when author needs it, MC levels up. When author tries to keep the MC on his current level, MC will stay on it no matter opportunity it received. 5)Revenge part is missing. After few battles in beginning of the story adulterous couple, which betrayed MC, just dissappeares from the story. Maybe, MAYBE they will reappear later, but considering MC is so OP right now, that he is able to fight two realms above, what is the point? Like this is 450 chapter, last time they appeared like 200 chapters ago and I don't see opportunity for them to show themself in the next 100 chapters either. In the end, I am dropping it. Maybe later I will pick it up, but I don't see any hope, considering how story progressed so far.
