Ooh guess what, since it's a STORY, and it's NOT REAL, that means the author can make it mean anything they like. Bonus: If you don't like it, you can stop reading! isn't that cool?

With a resolute tone, she continued. "I know I can be unprofessional at times and that my actions may come off as childish but there is no way I would mistake the aura of an evil god. The overwhelming yin energy is impossible to miss."

you are meant, as the reader, to feel disoriented like Alex does. You'll learn as you go, just like Alex. An excellent way to bring you into his perspective.

Of course, he didn't, but Alex had a part to play, so… "Indeed he does."

I'd like to know more about that...

Real people have this exact same feeling. it's not edgelord drama when it's realistic. People go to some dark places when they feel defeated.

no. It is a semi mindless animal. All he needs to do is avoid damaging it.

    This wasn't real, right?

hahaha..... Great! He went from "I went forget this, fools!", to "call me!"

"Well," the Parasite slowly said. "Why not view it as a nice favor from me for our future negotiations?"

It would appear saying a certain phrase guarantees death in this world.

It basically meant that the person had committed suicide via a specific method.

I always wonder why there's so much urgency attached when people suggest this. Why not wait around to see what else happens? It's never truly off the table. If I was willing to go to that step, first I'd do all the extreme things I was afraid to do before and see if it makes my life better or more interesting. Find passage on a shipping vessel to another country and figure out how to make a living and earn a place to stay. Work under the table at a shop in the day and talk to people at the illegal gambling den at night.....the sky is the limit! Live like a video game!!!
