Flickered

I really like the novel but I just find one thing confusing. Why is it that the night walkers invaded earth and killed half the population, yet the first thing that the earthlings did was contract with the night walkers to make them stronger?

I wish I could rate this higher but the story makes absolutely no sense. The main character has the stats of a top rank warrior but is still f/e rank and he hasn’t revisit the trial world since the start of the novel. It says that the limit of f rank is 100 points in each stat so would that make him SSS rank now?

The writing is really good but the story seriously dips after about chapter 30. It seems like the author has no real idea of what he is trying to write towards. There are probably 7+ different power level concepts introduced and 3 different worlds. Consistency would do well for this novel…. I liked it when it seemed like he was trying to climb to the top floor of the tower, now it seems like the story is going in a completely different direction and he hasn’t been to the tower in 50 chapters.
