He will be excommunicated, lose all his privileges, financial support, etc., which to me, is much more stupid to risk than just showing off, which is what you might be looking for. His mother was literally pushed to running away from the family because she was a mage. If you've read this far, it must be pretty obvious by now that this novel is drama and characterization over action. This novel in its rawest form, is a soap opera before anything else. And what you're looking for is probably a power fantasy. Its just not for you, man.
