Way too corny and edgy. Full of plot holes, I tried ignoring them but they just keep piling up. Mc's character is very lame and he is just overly obsessed with rose. His actions don't have any logic behind them which makes it very frustating to read.

The novel suffers from severe internal inconsistency and weak character logic. The protagonist deliberately acts incompetent even when there is no strategic benefit, which makes his behavior frustrating rather than clever. Major plot decisions lack justification—for instance, the Shadow Tower judges abruptly reverse their interest in him, with the only explanation being his lack of magical lineage. If lineage is truly tha important, the author fails to establish why. Even after securing first place in the examination and achieving the second level of biological transformation—an accomplishment that should require discipline and talent—other characters dismiss his success as “luck.” This explanation makes no sense within the story’s own power system. Luck cannot account for structured progression, yet the narrative repeatedly contradicts itself to undermine the protagonist. The protagonist himself is deeply frustrating. He is a pushover with inconsistent decision-making that exists purely to force conflict. At one point, another apprentice embezzles resources meant for him—a serious offense with no real consequences. Later, that same apprentice willingly offers compensation worth tens or even hundreds of thousands of magic stones after learning the protagonist will receive a warrior feather. The protagonist refuses, claiming the other party might hold a grudge. This is especially absurd considering he was previously willing to risk his life for a soul crystal worth only 10,000 magic stones. The inconsistency makes his character feel irrational rather than principled. Overall, the story relies on forced conflict, inconsistent worldbuilding, and characters who behave irrationally to push the plot forward. The result is a frustrating reading experience that feels poorly thought out rather than deliberately subversive.

Really good, Mc is great, World building is great, Certain aspects of the power system are pretty unique, and the most insane part is -characters have actual personalities, you can actually tell them apart and each of them has left a unique impression in mind, overall one of the best Chinese novels I have ever read

I had thought I found something decent until I read chapter 24, this whole plot with Camilla is just horrible writing without any logic or sense, it makes me feel so resentful towards the whole situation and that would be fine if there was nothing the mc could do about this whole situation but that is not the case, worst case scenario he could just leave the planet, the author said that the mc is prideful but his actions don't match that, it feels like the author is just trying to steer the story in a certain direction and he just can't be bothered to make sure the plot flows smoothly with logic and meaning so he wrote this trash

It was decent in the beginning but the pace got really really slow starting from around 100 chapters and some of the decisions of the mc make no sense. I am on chapter 191 now and for the last tens of chapters nothing substantial has happened, there are a lot of repetitive unnecessary explanations, overall it feels like the author is just trying to up the word count with fillers so imma just drop it.
