The figure gave it a push, and the wheel began to spin, whirring and clanking as it did. The man watched with a mixture of curiosity and dread. It felt like a cosmic game show—his fate hanging on wherever the wheel decided to stop. The wheel slowed, the clicking sounds growing softer until it landed on a glowing section labeled "P.T.J."

The dinner table was a warm, nostalgic scene, with Mr. and Mrs. Richard chuckling over stories from their youth. Mr. Richard was reminiscing about his "grand romantic gestures" that had somehow convinced Mrs. Richard to fall for him. Rachel, however, was barely listening, distractedly picking at her rice like she was counting each grain, while Doo, oblivious as usual, was single-mindedly stuffing his face with everything he could reach.

Once, I made the mistake of looking over her shoulder while she was reading something. What I saw still haunts me to this day. It was the kind of graphic, disturbing content you'd expect to find in the darkest corners of the internet, but she was reading it like it was just another work book or study guide.
