Imagine a burglar breaking into the house, glancing to the side, and seeing Steven sleeping there, completely carefree. The Gems aren't omniscient, and they don't have security cameras to monitor the entire house. In reality, the moment they're in their bedrooms, they're practically inaccessible to anyone outside. After all, a bedroom is meant to provide privacy, and if they could see everything through the door, there wouldn't be any privacy. Not to mention that there are three bedrooms and only one door. If they wanted to leave at the same time, how would that even work?
