There isn’t really a love interest yet, but the MC still has his pervy side (Though it doesn’t really show that much until now), though I don’t think it’s overdone. I hope this helps you decide whether to pick it up again or not, depending on what works best for you. Compared to an earlier book I read a while ago (I won’t go into details to avoid spoilers), I can really see noticeable improvement—especially in the writing style, which feels more polished and enjoyable now.
