So far I think you are doing quite well so far. Kaida has certainly become a more compelling character to me and I enjoy that you are trying to show more of her as a person. A world like this has lots of potential for interesting things within it, and so I give you ups for that. Although there are a few things I find problem with. My main issue, it could be something more personal. I find the side characters to generally be flat or uninteresting. Sometimes I can't really remember who someone is supposed to be because I haven't really been able to grasp them. Another thing, which may again be more personal is I do not see a clear aim with where the story is going.
