Marvel: The Umbrella Corporation

My name is Matthew, and I'm your average run-of-the-mill transmigrator. My current situation? Shareholder of the Umbrella Corporation — yes, that Umbrella Corporation — somehow operating inside the Marvel Universe. Don't ask me how Umbrella ended up here. Honestly, I couldn't tell you. Things just kind of spiraled, and at some point I stopped questioning it. Not that I have much room to relax. Thanos is eventually going to show up and snap half the universe out of existence. The Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D. are out there doing their whole crusade against evil thing. And then there are my fellow shareholders, who, for reasons I've never fully understood, would very much like me dead. All things considered, the company's future is looking pretty bleak. The one silver lining? I've awakened something called the Public Welfare Panel. The concept is simple enough: raise the "Happiness Index" of my employees and the people around me, and the system rewards me for it. Simple. Clean. Almost wholesome. So why does every single reward the system hands out look like a bioweapons catalogue? The T-Virus. The G-Virus. Extremis. The Blacklight Virus. The Emerald Agent. Bio-Ghost. Judgment Day... System, I'm going to need you to explain to me, slowly, how any of this is supposed to benefit the public good. The one saving grace is that the system comes with a built-in workbench — something that lets me actually refine these nightmare-fuel experiments into something usable. It's not ideal, but it's what I've got. And so the years passed. Eventually, the Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D. decided they'd had enough. They launched a joint investigation into Umbrella Corporation, fully prepared to tear the whole operation down. What they found instead stopped them cold. Matthew's reach didn't just span the globe. It spanned the universe. He had his fingers in every corner of existence — and somehow, in the Marvel cosmos, his word carried more weight than the Living Tribunal's. Matthew lights a cigarette. "Evil corporation?" He exhales slowly. "Umbrella has always been in the business of helping people."
