A One Piece fanfic that mostly follows cannon, but fixes some of the early issues that Oda introduced before Haki and other things. Characters are very believable and the development is as good as the manga. The story also has a few fun deviations from cannon and some major ones which may change the story largely. The translations quality can sometimes be a bit poor but it's infrequent enough that it doesnt make a huge difference.

Yeah, that is most likely the mechanics of dark magic. I also think this applies to all magic, for example Lock Heart who only uses the obliviate charm overtime lost the vast majority of his Magical knowledge because almost all Hogwarts graduates have more knowledge in magic than lockheart did, it was a basic requirement for graduating. But this is kind of a flimsy theory.
