there's a faction in warhammer fantasy which are basically lizard men and they have these as their personal mounts and siege beasts

Her Draconian form stood tall and powerfully built, with dark brown skin that contrasted sharply against the white-silver scales covering her body like natural armor. The scales swept across her shoulders, down her arms, and covered her legs entirely—thick, interlocking plates that caught the light with a metallic sheen. A massive tail extended behind her, ridged with white spikes that tapered to a curved blade at the tip. Her hair was wild and black, a voluminous mane that fell past her shoulders in untamed waves, framing a face with sharp features and golden eyes that burned with inner fire. Clawed feet gripped the stone, and her hands ended in scaled fingers tipped with white claws.

It needs to function simultaneously as a melee weapon, a magical focus, and a structural reinforcement for whatever spell you're channeling through it. In Chaos-Forged Steel, we could manage two of those three functions at acceptable levels. In Wyrm-Forged..."
