This is the first YA book I've read that has a strong familial focus, and I absolutely loved it with all my heart. The bond between Dinh and her grandpa is amazing, and I could relate so much to different aspects of Dinh. I saw myself in them, and that's always an amazing feeling. ALSO, THEY ARE Vietnamese; I am Vietnamese.

Well I see 90% the real landscape and mid set of a Sino culture vividly crafted here. I am a half of Vietnamese, so I find really familiar.
