I do like this way of doing the system so nothing to complain about there. I love the idea of self imposed restrictions, I think the author can definitely use this to keep the power balance in check. Just make sure the restrictions make sense and add to the story instead of hindering progress and frustrating the reader.

Loving it so far. Seems like a well thought out story. Hopefully it continues this way because I have seen way too many stories completely derail from their starting point.

So far the the story is slow but engaging in its own way. Keep up the good work author.
