i hate how he can only choose one binding target so he chose the fmc who he wasn't even compatible with instead of his sister who was essentially just as strong in the "original story" and who he'd have justification to provide more and more resources to... just seems like a weird fixation on the old mc

i think it's a waste for mc not to donate to any charities tbh, it'd be real fun to see him participating in charity events or just the occasional heart warming chapter of him doing something like that(not necessarily planting trees but something like that where he goes out and just does something kind for fun)

he's not my favorite character either but he had an amazing backstory and he did a better job than most people would when placed in the same scenario... he acted entirely practically with the cards he was dealt IMO and although it's sad it doesn't mean he should be hated on so much for by people who are so busy virtue signaling like they are so much better people, it's a character in a story which makes it easier to critique them but if you consider it from a real life perspective things would appear much more gray so they Kishimoto made a great character I'd say
