Fair enough, must have misread. The person you're commenting on didn't mention the men "giving up" their power to the women though. So no idea where you got that idea and asked for a real life example. What the original commentor said was that men are more prone to be influenced by women. Which certainly isn't untrue. It's not about her becoming ruler and him losing privileges (seriously, how is that at all relevant or applicable to the story or the comment you commented on?) it's about her having sway over him and influencing his decisions. Which is just called marriage. Never heard of the saying: "the King rules over the people, but the Queen rules over the King"? That doesn't mean she's literally at the top of the food chain. Unless they were her own titles to begin with but that's a whole other situation
They voted yes so they chose to have her. My point still stands. They dropped the ball by voting yes.
She helped patch people up during the Dothraki episode
Why did you share a screenshot instead of the actual image?
Patreon really dropped the ball on that vote. Don't know what they were thinking. There are so many better options than any of Cerceis spawn. Gross.

Edward VIII (British Empire 1936) abdicated within a year to marry Wallis Simpson, a divorced woman from the US. So it has indeed happened. Less than a century ago
