More likely anyone that angers Utopia gets granted citizenship. Not many opportunities to tell anybody about it after that.
Yes Wendel. It's your pure heart that helped you pass the test of morals and kept you from getting eaten by monsters. lol
Perhaps he's pulling a Klein and the last one is his own alt account?
Such as ignoring Susie of being a worthy target in his manipation of Audrey. Also trying to force his own ideals of relationships onto Audrey when it was entirely unnecessary to his mission. Only someone unable to accept the faults in their perspective would do these things. I'm very prideful myself, I usually only notice errors like this in hindsight. The quiet horror on recognizing your own disgusting beliefs is real and relatable. They often grow back too if left unchecked, it's a constant battle of maintenance.
If I remember right, there was some narration that said the mutated sun sacred emblem would've been classified as a higher ranked artifact if anyone actually knew it held some of the sun god's blood in it. All anyone could tell was that it purified everything in a certain radius and turned people into sun praisers after a set time. It was always straightforward to use and easy to seal, so it never got a deep investigation. Of course in hindsight the goddess could've arranged things so the emblem never got a second look so it could be easy for low level nighthawks to access it too...
Klein has been fulfilling final wishes for a long time in hindsight. In the Nighthawk era there was the factory girl haunting Dewyville because she was worried for her family. In Sherlock's era there was old Kohler, and an elderly tramp lady (she died during an interview after she asked to take a nap). In Sparrow's era there's the one half native girl that died praying to be treated as a human, as well as the guy that never confessed his love, and the nighthawk that died to Quilangos. Also returning the remains of everyone that was stuck in Groselle's Travels, that's another batch of final wishes. In Dantes' era he's been granting current wishes, like the valet that wanted to be separated from his gang ties, and the one wisdom demigod that asked Klein to save his life in a prophecy. Not to even touch on all the wishes he's been granting for the Tarot club, although I don't know if they count since his acting as the Fool didn't before. Please feel free to jot down any other wishes, final or otherwise, that I might've forgotten.
You are correct. There is only one gate for this nightmare, so I was wrong in this theory. I have more fun reading when I stop and explore my passing thoughts by writing them out. It gives me time to pause and digest things that recently happened in the story. Being correct isn't typically my end goal. Hope you're having fun reading too.
I wouldn't put it past the rich of the Victorian era to do this to their favorite staff members. Who wouldn't want to have their favorite worker oversee their things at bedtime and wake up to them as well? Odds are a smart butler will schedule things so the valet gets a midnight and midday nap. Klein has a good one so this probably works out. In reality I'd bet there were a lot of sleep deprived valets in the Victorian era.
Tl;dr: Earl and Audrey are valid, and Hibbert is short sighted. This is the Dewyville situation again, that's so cool and complex! I love this story! It's a little wild seeing people justifying Hibbert here. Earl has some valid points, he wants to protect his direct social circle before absolute strangers and that's valid. By Hibbert's logic however, anyone can walk up to their mansion, murder everyone inside and steal their belongings, then declare that they earned that money through their own hard work and efforts. Which is also technically true, because right of conquest is a law that pops up throughout human history. It would be hard work killing a family of beyonders and their many beyonder bodyguards. You only own your stuff so long as you have the means to retain it after all. Audrey's point isn't a super terrible one either, following her example would almost certainly curb the peasant uprising that seems to be brewing. Problem is, she's the only one helping and their high society is built on the exploitation of the lower class, so anything she gives just ends up in the pockets of other rich folk eventually. Food really is the only thing she can give out right now, and that only sustains the workers who generate more income for the rich. In the end, she's only burning her own resources to make other rich folk richer. This is actually very similar to the Deweyville situation way back in Tingen. Trying to be a pioneer costs way too much money for any one individual to spend. Looking away and ignoring the issue only builds resentment in the people that have been given the sort end of this stick too. Nobody can simply wave around statements about morals to fix this. I wonder what the solution will eventually end up being, we've been building up to it for a long time. Once again, I appreciate the good writing that allows me to dump paragraphs of my insights into it! Super disappointed the anime totally skipped the Dewyville side arc now since it sets up this conflict so beautifully.
Are Tarot cards going to become Klein's deity pleasing materials in rituals? Because I am here for it if so.
