I don't remember the exact lore behind the aurora but I am pretty certain the gun did not shoot the aurora down(or atleast was not the reason for its crash) because the guns job is to prevent stuff from leaving. The aurora destination wasn't the subnautica planet so it would have no reason to get close enough to the planet to get shot down.

I don't understand the point of an Mc being a bezerker who follows orders. Especially orders of those who clearly don't help him progress and even contradict his main goal: fighting and getting stronger.
