Tabu_24a day agoPostedThe story is quite original and entertaining; the magical aspect are well integrated and regulated so as not to disrupt the narrative. I would recommend that you look into incorporating rune magic. It's quite practical and has rules that can be dictated. Good fic, keep going.

The MC doesn't change practically anything other than the interaction with female characters; it doesn't change practically anything because the author isn't interested in changing the story.

Even if Alaric tried, he would have to accept, since the Kingsguard is a vow taken voluntarily to leave everything behind to protect the king; it's not something the king can demand of anyone.
