All I heard was a loud splat as the Imp was not so much slashed but rather smashed against the flat side of the sword. Foul liquid erupted from the head splashing over the ground, causing it to make a sizzling sound as it got dissolved. Moreover, the things I'm planning for the future are much more.... controversial. Personally, I believe that a fanfic that just regurgitates the same plot as the thing it is based on is just a waste of the reader's time; so, I attempt to add some nuggets of originality into my work. Some may not like it, but it is called fanfiction for a reason.

Well, one of the readers suggested that it would ve better for the name to be changed as it wasn't unique enough. In regards to normal soul cores, they are usually represented as suns of various types like the shadow suns of Sunless, etc. Anyways, since William's soul cores take the form of big ice-like crystals, I thought it would be appropriate to name it as such.

You're getting close. Their only relation is that they both were in the forgotten shore during the doom war. More lore will be fleshed out in later chapters.
