I mean, shameless would be his father asking him to calm down knowing fully well that his siblings bullied him sometimes to near death knowing they couldn't kill him themselves, and atop that, ignored all that was happening between his children. Well, like it was before, strength and power are the only criteria for Theodore to accept you as his kin...Your perception of your own strength and power and its potential, makes you his child.. however, without any...should you even be considered useful? talk lest of human, in his eyes of course. Gates honestly is doing what he would and could, because he knows the one whom wanted theodores acknowledgment is dead, and he, was not here for any kind of unnecessary squabbles for a father's attention and even worse, love.

indeed, he is bloodthirsty ... however, he doesnt need to have the memories of the original Gates, he read the novel, right? so he should have his lingering feelings towards the different characters of the novel, even if he wasn't the one whom experienced whatever between the characters, as a reader, some of the actions of a character on another character, will always affect you.
