The ship was small enough that the lounge wasn't far. It sat just aft of the cockpit, a modest space with a low table and a handful of seats that had seen better decades, the kind of functional comfort that bounty hunters apparently considered sufficient. I moved through it and dropped into one of the chairs, and once I was settled I looked toward Ozela and patted the seat beside me.

Slowly, almost lazily, moving through the same spectrum as the crystal — red to orange to yellow to green to blue to violet and back again, the transitions smooth and continuous, the light it threw across the kitchen walls shifting with it. I stood there and watched it for longer than was practical.
