Other than that, I slightly miscalculated something about coming out so late... I was trying my best to avoid direct sunlight by waiting for nightfall, but that didn't help much either. Moonlight is essentially just 80-90% less direct sunlight. Just as I started consuming his energy back, his wings shifted around, before growing sharp points and stabbing me in the side. To add insult to injury, they also began absorbing my energy.
