he's not, they literally fight shinigami in their metaphysical soul form, even if they can't fully destroy a human soul like hollows they can definitely "kill" it, and let's say they can't, the bleach cannon is too much for one piece, captains and lieutenants are so powerful they distort the world and damage living beings just by breathing if they're not suppressed, they literally have the equivalent of a conquerors haki so powerful it need to be sealed or everyone dies... and almost everyone in the wandenreich is capitan level at least with hax as absurd as the Visionary with a power ceiling close to be capable of risking the collapse of reality itself.

the "why can't genius be born in my village, the sage must be blind" thing is funny, since Konoha is pretty much where most of his descendants live, or rather, they themselves almost destroyed an entire sage family tree with uzushiogakure, if the sage actually got into the matter and had a different personality they'll get cursed rather than blessed.
