It's a dark-themed story, it's not supposed to be all cheerful and happy.

It's important to build Sasuke’s character and create a drive for him to kill his brother. This is also compared to Indra Otsutsuki; developing a link between the two characters. I see no point in allowing them to live as it grows the festering hate for the Leaf village inside of Sasuke that later leads him to have no regrets for his later actions toward them. Plus this event is Sasuke’s whole reason for evolving that hereditary hate. 👍

What she said wasn't word-for-word what the elders had told the clan members, it was just her interpretation of their meaning. Earlier in the story I wasn't assertive in saying that this story is an AU of the actual show, so in this world, I've created a more carefree personality for Mikoto; along with her friendship with Kushina Uzumaki, she is a lot more spirited than her original counterpart. So again I apologize for not mentioning that this is an AU more.

In this time period I’ve decided to hold off on Danzo having Shisui’s eyes so early, since it would make more sense for Orochimaru to do it when they meet later in the story around the Chunin Exam’s. I would think that he needs a skilled doctor to implant an eye; not just an easy fix you see in some episodes of the show. And since he can’t have any person do it since it would raise questions; by now he already set a meeting and is waiting to receive the eye. Plus I need him later too, but I promise he will die horribly in the future. 👍
