What I mean is that he behaves in a very boring, robotic way, the way you expect a one-dimensional heroic character to behave. We also don't know much about the MC to say whether he would do that or not, because he's a blank slate (self-insert). So all of his acts of kindness feel empty. Sure, he went against the big bad, but why should I care? He is never in danger or never has any second thoughts; I don't even think he has thoughts like “I want this" or “I want to go here.” Everything he has done is driven by the plot and his one-dimensional heroic archetype. If you like it, it's fine, but I had to go back to my notes for this response to even remember what the MC was like and what he did since he's just such a bland character that I had forgotten.
I recommend you give this a read. With that said, 3.5 stars. Why the low rating then? It’s the MC. I just can't stand him; he has been one of the most boring characters I've read. He got isekai'd, and there was almost zero reaction to it. He got a system, and there was the same amount of expression. What's worse, in my opinion, is that he is just a system slave and doesn't really seem to do anything that he is not told to. Whether by the system or by "fate," as in he dives immediately into everything without much thought and is saved by a “Deus Ex Machina” event or by sheer dumb luck. Don't get me wrong. I like the idea, just not the execution. To reiterate, read it. The translation is actually done quite well; when I read it at first, I didn't even know it was a translation. Either whatever the author uses to translate is top-notch, or the author also does some tidying up after the translation is done.

Just finished reading this one. Here is a short review for this one. 3.5 Stars I recommend you give this a try. Yes, there are parts where there is AI, but those actually don't last all that long. They are between chapters 172 and 187. After that, it does get better, and the translator does seem to get rid of whatever AI they used. The story is alright, it's your typical power fantasy. The story is, in my opinion, slightly above average. The MC doesn't just fight or kill their problem, he actually does some planning. Not a lot, but that's already more than other MCs. Russell—the MC—does start to behave like a murderhobo at times and is sometimes way too vindictive. The low reviews are probably from readers who read some of the AI chapters. I understand not wanting to continue after that, but for the new readers, try to push through it.
