He never had to struggle to learn anything; instinctively knowing how to do something, just by watching it being done. Zerun is bratty, arrogant and outspoken, that is who he is. He will learn to be more compassionate, considerate, and fun. Though your suggestion to show a training arc will be used during a particular story arc; one where he creates his own sub-bending.
