Would make mc look incompetent and would seem to be a bit of cannon hash for the sake of it if you want her to die could simply have Jeremy hear stefan and elena talk about it while at The party. Essentially that vickie is with the mc he rushes over bla bla bla and in the end mc kills vickie to save Jeremy or something along those lines

I didn't talk much to Mary Jane at first but after she started dating Harry I talked to her and got to know her. She is a fun, free-spirited girl who prefers to not take life too seriously, but at the same time she is a very supportive, loyal and good friend. Those were my first thoughts about her as I didn't let myself define people on who they will be in the future based on comics or movies. But my thoughts about her quickly changed as I saw her jealous of Gwen's geniusness or maybe even beauty. Our education was quiet, I showed the ability to learn quickly, although I held back so as not to attract unwanted attention. It was thanks to my previous life along with blood magic that helped me develop healthily and above children my age.
