Spoiler Warning! (Possibly. It's just a theory, a game theo-- I mean novel theory) First, I want to say thank you to the author. So far they have COOOOKKKEDDD. Michilen Star level. I've had theories regarding previous novels I've read, but this is the first time I have the willpower to type one out. I'm that hyped. The writing quality is way higher than most novels on this platform and we're only 3 chapters in. Anyways, this theory of mine could be horrendously wrong in [insert chapter number here], but what if Noah is the Tenth Demon Prince/ final boss described in the prelude? Or maybe Noah has a strange connection to the Prince we aren't privy to yet? Walk with me here. I'm thinking about the prophecy that the "seer" -or whatever she's called- left and it eerily fits his description. "From realms of sorrow, he sought to flee, Memory lost to Eternity's Sea" Noah's past life was filled with hardship and in my opinion, "sorrow". His memory has probably long been forgotten to"Eternity's Sea" in his old world because he had no meaningful relationships with anyone. In his last moments, he regretted living that way which could have resulted in him "fleeing" to this new world. "But fate shall draw him back once more, To tread the steps he's walked before." "Fate" = truck-kun in this case. Cause logically, when is a truck going to crash through a convenice store the same day the god-crazy storekeeper looks at you pitifully? Only explanation is fate. "Draw him back once more, to tread the steps he's walked before". I think this could mean two things. One version is that "treading the steps he's walked before" and "drawing him back" is in relation to the fact Noah played this game in his past life. By killing him, fate is literally "drawing him" into the new world that he's played or "tread[ed]" before. In this case, the quote has a more figurative meaning. OR This is how Noah's lived: Demon Prince/ final boss (life 1) --> Noah in normal world (life 2) --> Samael (life 3). In this case, "drawing him back" and "treading the steps he's walked before" is literal. Noah HAS lived in the 'new world' before as the Demon Prince, but he doesn't remember. Now, as Samael, he has the opportunity to "tres the steps" he made in life 1 again. "In nameless guise, he'll play the role, Unknowing of his fractured soul." Nameless guise = Noah Play the role = Noah living his life out as Samael Unknowing of his fractured soul = Noah doesn't know that Samael, the body he's inhabiting, will grow to become the final boss OR Unknowing of his fractured soul = Noah doesn't remember that he once lived as the final boss. His soul is fractured because he's lived to many differing lives: once as the Demon Prince who murdered all, then as Noah who accomplished nothing, and now as Samael who could save the world. AND FINALLY MY LAST PIECE OF EVIDENCE! According to the Jewish Virtual Library, Samael is a fallen angel who "brought the poison of death into the world". The demon prince in the prelude was described with golden, angel-like attributes, but with black wings which are a mark of fallen angels. The demon prince also slaughtered everyone, brining "death into the world". Thank you for listening to my Ted Talk. If my theory isn't somewhat correct I'll be sad cause this took a while to type, but I think I'll be happy for a surprise plot tooo.
