Right from the start of the chapter, Ren’s fierce determination and willpower shine through, giving us a clear glimpse of what he stands for, even at such a young age. The mystery surrounding the ring his mother gave him, which originally belonged to his father, adds a really intriguing layer to his journey. Later in the story, we see that determination in full force. Ren possesses an incredibly strong will and a deep-seated need for answers and exploration. (Though, little bro really didn't need to scare the shopkeeper like that) Kaito holding Ren after hearing the story about his father beautifully highlights his supportive and protective nature. He's already proven how far he'll go to look out for Ren, especially after taking that attack from the commander on his behalf. As the story develops further, the introduction of the mysterious cloaked man hooked me even more. We also get a firsthand look at just how… reckless Ren can be, to say the least. (Did not have the power to fight that commander, and ended up getting his friend hurt) Learning the truth about who Ren’s father actually was came as a fantastic little surprise. Meanwhile, the scene with his mother was beautifully executed, a silent departure that she chose not to stop. (I felt so bad for her; she really doesn't deserve this heartbreak.) I'm definitely looking forward to seeing where this adventure takes Ren and Kaito next!
