Author love the novel so far but I am really confused. How can the MC fear starting a faction will get him and his mother killed? The MC is a prince for starters, secondly the Emperor has recongized his talent and third the other emperess have factions. Which speaking of "3 empresses" or 4 depending with the MC's mother. Are the rest not concubines and there is only one? They also have factions and yet another contender for the throne can't? Is the emperor so weak that he cant protect such a talented son?

Agreed but honestly dont even know if I will read because the only other characters of note are female. So this might just be some puesdo harem stuff (all female side characters and maybe a few male grunts smh)
