This is a very interesting concept with good worldbuilding and not much else. The characters feel more like devices for the plot, the writing (while being rather decent) is very inconsistent with how it feels, the grammar is fine, but nothing to write home about. Although, I personally like how the main character has a specific specialty in ranged combat instead of being good at everything. I'm interested to see how much the author will improve on these flaws, because behind them there's a truly intriguing idea. Keep it up, author!

Drowned Sparrows

In the ages of old, there existed a kingdom known as Celtor. It boasted itself a marketplace with rare goods and trusted merchants, and at the same time, held the strongest military force known to exist. This was due to utilizing The Song of The World, a mystical force that the strong could control, to massively enhance the kingdom's growth and power. Controlling The Song, warriors could increase their physical strength and speed, fortify their minds from deceit and manipulation and even bend the very forces of nature themselves, like Fire, Wind, Earth Ice, Lightning, including unnatural elements like Steel. Celtor prospered for centuries with this. However, they were not aware of the consequences of overusing The Song and were not prepared for what came next. Suddenly, the entirety of Celtor, as well as the known world, was swallowed by the sea, more commonly known as "The Deep", a force not unalike to The Song. Centuries passed and new land was formed under the ruins of the now-submerged Celtor. As countless days passed, the world was filled with life yet again. For better or worse, this current world populated by a variety of races has no knowledge of Celtor. Let us hope history doesn't repeat itself... (In case you aren't aware, this book is based off Deepwoken, however I'll be taking a lot of creative liberty and interpretation into the story so that it's not a complete copy. Since this is my first book, be sure to be as critical as can be! Newbie flattery will get me nowhere, so please tell me what you enjoyed, what you didn't and tips for becoming a better writer!) -ALTA
