The arc is unnecessary, if you wanted a fight where the MC will stuggle, you could have added a meeting between him and Fury, It will have added more dept to the story, until now most characters where only from the X-men, but you mentioned earlier Thanos, Starks Ind and others, with the antagonist here being Captain Marvel cause Fury called her. And then her falling for the MC’s charm afterwards
