No the surprise came from four people he had simply not expected to get a gift from at all due to his limited interaction with them. Madam Maxime , Olivander , Mr. Crumonte and Nicolas Flammel all sent him gifts. His curiosity got the best of him and he ignored the normal gifts in favor of opening these first. From Madam Maxime there was a card addressed to him that explained why he had received a gift from her. It was simply because she loved the newest line of fashion that had been created based on Nazgul and wanted to give him a piece of it to show her appreciation.- - BigDaddg42010dCommented

Nick stood in his realm holding the light material in his hands as he began the condensation process of the crafting style under the analysis of the realm. He made various handsigns that caused his magic to wrap around the material and begin to stab into and fuse with it. Once enough magic had been injected the material violently shuddered and began to fold into itself while taking a specific form that it was most attuned to. this is why such high morals suck, they stop you from doing anything beneficial to yourself, how does a person feel repulsed and horror by taking energy from Jewelry? like, what? these forced plots, morals, and interactions are ruining your book man. Why did he even interfere with Dumbledore other than his reputation, dude, doesn't he already know what would happen if he didn't interfere at all, it's literally a happy ever after ending, why, just, why.
Nick much like Helena felt repulsed by the ring but controlled himself and didn't move to destroy it but picked it up and sucking in a sharp breath as the ring eagerly turned over the energy it had obtained. The energy flowed into his body and directly into his soul causing it to start to stretch and expand to accommodate it. Nick stopped forcing the issue and held the wall for a moment as a wave of vertigo hit him. Once the world stopped spinning he tentatively released the wall and felt his lip where he found a small amount of blood. "NEN!"(Water) he said calmly in elvish while pushing his wand forward causing a small orb of pure water to appear in the air. With a careful movement of his wand Nick moved the orb of water to his face where he rinsed off the blood the best he could without a mirror.- - BigDaddg42026dCommented

The entire three days passed by before he finally was forced to make his choice and he chose to embrace the change. He knew that even if somewhere far in the future he might turn cruel and evil , NOT taking the option was simply wasteful and he admittedly didn't like the thought of growing old. The sleep he was expecting that night was once again centered around the brown haired elf who had shown up once more.
