Im a fan of Minecraft. There, I said it. Naturally I do play a lot of Minecraft, sometimes with absurd amounts of mods. I thought the premise is interesting and picked it up, and I dont know I regret it or not. This novel is absolutely great. Steve or steven is a self proclaimed mad person. He is trapped in a world that saperated him with others for eons (maybe). Have you watched YouTube videos of people playing Minecraft? Those one that like '1000 days' by LukeTheNoteable or the longest running play through of Minecraft by EthosLab. Has it ever crossed to you that, how tf does these people hasn't stopped yet? Dont they get sick of playing the same game for the past 10 years? Sure the views and money is a major push, but surely there's a long period during the start of it, that it doesn't mean anything. No profit, just for fun . Look, the point is, Steve is a person who should have gone insane. Or rather, he did. But he gone insane again, until he becomes sane. The author did a great job of capturing that. His biggest motivation is himself. He act when he want, how he wanted to, to whom. He have a partially broken moral compass but at the same time know the direction of cardinal direction. My point is, he know what's other people's view good or bad. He just doesn't care for it. As long he view it as good, then he have no problem. Why reason with an insane person? I thought there's more to his story, but at the same time, he doesn't. Or rather, nothing I dont know or predict. Not because Steve is predictable, far from it. Because, I played Minecraft before. I know what hes talking about, I know how hard it is to find purpose after the game signaled you reached the end of it. I know tid bits of mobs trivia, I know what hes try to say, knows what hes want to do. It felt and feel fun to watch him and his antics, maybe that why I thought about YouTube at the start? It felt like watching someone playing a game, your favourite game, testing out what you want to do, even when you have no way of saying to do so. TLDR; its an absolutely fun and entertaining. Here another section that contains my spoilers, some of my favourite parts I have never played arknights, but im a fan of Kamen Rider, but the author take another step further and portrayed the best character (imo) , Evolt, goddamn Evolt. Every time steve portrayed Evolt is a bullseye, he hit the mark, of how evolt act, Except for, yknow, being actually evil, and even then. Man it was such a treat! I think the biggest Advantage this novel have is, being a fanfic. The author doesn't need to build a world that already been built. All characters originated form mincraft or Arknights, the author doesn't need to think of a cool sounding name or how the character looked. Everything is already been written. Even the mods that referenced in the novel are actually Mods that exist for you (yes you) to play around. I really want to write so much more. But, I save it for those who want to read them, or saving this novel for one of those days that you need something good to read. Absolutely must read for any Fan or MC or Arknights. 10/10
