By chapter 250, I have to say I expected more. I always find myself biased toward popular works, forcing myself to continue reading even when it gets bad, but this one takes the crown as the worst popular novel on the website (in my opinion to this point). Reasons why it sucks: 1. MC clearly has no ambition or long term goal 2. Story sets out in a series or crazy adventures style, also with no clear direction or reason (even for a mystery too much is kept in the dark, I have no clue what I'm reading) 3. MC is short and ugly + both FLs (and I presume one FL being an eventual love interest) start swooning over some lead singer of a band and blushing and shit (NTR coded, trust me I've read a lot of novels), even though not NTR, is very uncomfortable to read. 4. Beta MC just follows Nephis' whims, only time I respected him was on the Ice Mountain at the start 5. Every character is shitty, well designed, but shitty.(Except Kai I like him)They are realistic yes, but too much realism hurts more than it helps. 6. The power system is nothing special, not boring, but not the sort of special to garner anywhere near this popularity. Strength is gained slowly over hundreds of chapters, just for the MC and his Divine ability to still fall short of ducking Caster of all people, some random legacy boy (who also gives off NTR vibes from how close Nephis appears to be to him, even if resolved later) Overall unarguably one of the best written on the site in terms of writing quality, but fails on just about everything else. Characters are too annoying, world building is long and arduous and gives more questions than answers, and worse of all author hints at NTR to keep people hate reading, which worked on me. Despite all of this I won't drop yet, but only on regard of the novel's popularity. I will hope to the dead gods that this gets better and change parts of my review if it does.
