this is the most fun I've had since the whole Mongrel debacle. the secret identity shenanigans are so much fun, I am really enjoying seeing how this plays out, and I've been laughing aloud so many times while reading these last few chapters... ahhhh it's too good

Hello! Ahhh thank you so much for reaching out. Yeah, work got super busy and i wasn't sure where i was taking the story, or how to get past this point to move to the next step. I think i have a better idea of it now, so hopefully the updates will get more consistent again. Hahaha yeah, we were ALL (including me) expecting something different!!! Curse Damien and Cain and their stubbornness.... Hahahahahah Damien just casually baring his throat like that is probably going to keep Cain up at night for WEEKS . And he kinda deserves that for NOT COOPERATING with me tbh

Haha, thanks for the feedback. I wasn't sure about that section, myself. Sometimes a comma splice works, and sometimes it just makes a confusing run-on sentence, and it looks like I'm leaning more into the latter territory here. I'll probably poke it a bit before posting the next chapter. thanks!

ahhh thank you 💕 I was really worried because something like 'licking' walks such a fine line between sexy and silly, it's really easy to tip the wrong way and end up goofy instead of intense also, another excellent gif!! haha I definitely giggled when i saw it

Technically speaking you're right. Cain isn't forcing Damien, *I'M* forcing Damien.... lol i haven't gotten far enough in the next chapter to figure out if it's going to be weird or sexy but I'm hoping someone somewhere out there is into it 😅 also A+ GIF use 🤣

hahaha I'm glad we seem to agree that a predictable outcome can still be satisfying! confession time, though: I also don't read much vampire romance? 😂 I just like writing it... the 'only one' twist was based on a fanfic I wrote a year or two ago, but drawn out a lot longer (the fanfic finishes at 30k and this story is already over 100k and barely wrapping up part 1 of 3) between the two characters. one thing I really enjoy about Cain is that he still sees himself as human, deep down, no matter how many times he calls himself a monster and soulless, I'm not sure i believe it 😔 and yes he tries to choose the lesser of two evils or take advantage of loopholes when he can to make things less bleak. I can't wait for Damien to fully understand why the other thralls admire Cain so much lol that's great that you write too! if you decide to start posting again let me know, I'd be interested to see what you have 🙂 i like supporting writer buddies 💕 fortunately for me, I'm a bit of a "fly by the seat of my pants " writer, so the planning is just really hilarious notes to self like "Cain tells Damien to be careful, Damien is petty about it. eventually they come to an understanding also oops Crowe is there, danger for damien" (example from the chapter "Morsel", I think 🤔) anyway thanks again for reading and good luck with your own writing 😘 take your time and have fun 🎉

I was wondering how many people were going to see that twist coming... I don't think it's particularly unique for a story like this, but it was really funny for me to watch Cain mope around for the better part of 30 chapters just cackling in my corner going "just you wait..." I honestly am barely keeping on top of my publication schedule for this story (lol idk how other authors do it tbh), and I had little plans written out from about chapter 35 - 50 to keep me on track, but regretfully I am moving into uncharted territory now 😱 haha it's time to sit down with my story for an hour or two and churn out plans for the next 30, I guess. I will say that I personally am a BIG fan of the "losing control and feral" trope, so if not now, then I'm sure it'll happen eventually!! thank you so much for your comments, sometimes writing on webnovel feels a lot like shouting a story into the void, so I'm really grateful for your response !!
