This is a very emotionally moving chapter well written. A great point for these thoughts as Theo plans to go out into danger. So Theo considers his past as a teacher on Japan - and if he has any chance of a future in this terrible place. First survival, then is there any way out?
After a pretty relentless growing horror this is some light rest and recovery. It's really needed as the narrator has come of very badly from his encounters with the monsters. But by the end of this chapter it's looking grim again. What exactly is the power that has him trapped here. Hanging out for the next instalment!
The only character - so far anyway - seems like a normal person in a terrible situation. The story gets you in to a mysterious and frightening world with a lot that needs to be explained, like how did he get here, where the heck is he, what are all these terrible creatures!? Everything develops slowly but steadily. I keep wanting to find out what happens next. So far new chapters have been posted each week, Saturday or Sunday.
The story is developing well and is getting pretty weird and disturbing. I'm caught up in the action, wanting to know what's going to happen next an how the hero will survive. I like that he wants to do the right thing, but isn't actually an action hero.
