The writing is alright, but a single chapter can't say much about your novel. Also maybe increase the word count of the chapter to at least 2000 words if it's not a prologue.

the progression of your story feels a bit off, like the story keeps bouncing around many places at once chapter to chapter. the updates are stable, no doubt about it. character and world background are good but the chapters should be much longer.

The only advice I can give, is to further develop the characters in the next chapter. As far as I can see, rewriting the current chapter doesn't seem like a good idea to flesh them out. ^^ll
