I've always enjoyed the concept of a dimensional ship. Maybe he can go to the Stargate universe and increase his knowledge ( Asgard hyperdrive, ZPMs, the sarcophagus tech, SGI robots, etc) or Star Wars increase his adventures ( planetary shields, droids, bacta tanks, etc). So many choices.

Very good Harry Potter story. I def enjoy having a SI that is involved in the story and characters as opposed to the general HP SIs on this site. Normally those revolve around pointless harem, overstated gamer bs and pairiings with Daphene or some other side character thats barely in the the original story.
