Happy to see Kyle proving himself.
When I started this novel I was hooked and this lead to me reading about 150 chapters. The mc "was" good throughout the first volume. his quick thinking and reasonable ruthlessness which save his life in his first nightmare, made him a very enjoyable mc. But onto the 2nd volume, the mc just loses all independence and follows Nephis around blindly with her reckless plans that almost lead to their death on many occasions. This volume shows just how weak the mc really is. At the start of the story his ability may seem like an advantage but it was worst than everyone else's. First off he had to engage in veryyy boring and trivial fights to earn barely any shadow essence to grow stronger instead of consuming crystal. This made him unable to monopolize on crystal like what the Bright Lord did and so making his growth much slower than others. Secondly the mc's shadow enhancing ability made no sense in terms of growth mainly because when he defeats nightmares it says that his shadow grows stronger but even so it only ever enhancing his strength and speed by 2 folds. The 2nd volume really has no positives, the pacing was horrible as a simple conversation or observation would take up half a chapter, it's filled with boring chatter and unnecessary thinking on the mc's side. Honestly this novel is a decent read but for me personally the story is a bit too slow paced and the mc is pathetic and just loses his quick thinking that he had in the first volume.
I think a magic swordsman was a better pick as he spoke about lack talent but it increased his talent and the mc was on about lack of destructive power and he just let an opportunity like that pass. The story is pretty decent but a little more though needs to go into the mindset of the mc.
