This doesn't make much sense, I'mma be honest. Unless he's a fresh recruit, not many get to choose patrons(or there are many more gods than good souls), or literally everyone gets gobbled up and forced to sign their souls to the Loli Granny or sex-related Gods.

You're incorrect about literally everything you wrote in this comment. Being created by someone does not make you their slave. A billion humans, in a world where they can advance and "reach" God, should reasonably exert enough influence on the world that a God may be born through their faith. That is, assuming the world says Gods are born through belief. Generally speaking, the way I prefer the "Born-through-belief" trope is that minds dedicated to one specific thing = said thing's impact on the world. If that thing is a monster, it may eventually be given form if enough people attribute disappearances to it. A God would be born when people are affecting the world through their combined belief, to the point that the concept is of a "godly" influence. That is, their belief influences the world to such a degree that, reasonably, would warrant the existence of a God.
