I guess I should've been more specific demon lords and demonic dukes are basically the same thing... demonic nobles are demon lord's(in ranking at least).

Both the White Queen and Red Queen have the ability to deny or somewhat resist it's effect (Reality manipulators).... [Essence of Death] is not an instant death ability, the miasma Riley spreads basically just marks the enemy with [Seal of Oblivion] allowing him to insta kill them if he lands an attack on them [True Death].... hope that explains it....
