I mean, soul killer does exactly what the names says, he kills the soul and makes a copy of memories and personality, but there is no soul, only memories and a.i that mimics the one who got soul killed. However if it's talk with souls maybe is acceptable, however I think they should be long death or something not recurrent, like only very strong people with strong mind (Like Jhonny, David and another legends, the one guy who created r. a. b. i. d. s) this are only my suggestions as a reader, I'm not going to drop if you don't follow them like another reader's would do

I mean, pretty much yeah, because that means that more or less someone has control of the mc and he would not be able to get out of it. After all this looks like fate manipulation, straigth up op, not only that but although in cyberpunk fate is somewhat of a concept that works because of the cards, is arbitrary and there are no gods, so putting them in is weird. An example of things like this that are somewhat out of what is supposed in the world are the manga of rent a girlfriend adding aliens, like, why would you add aliens? is more or less the feeling that things are out of place, and although the author could use it in the future but it defies the essence of the story and goes from a route where things can go very bad like naruto also adding aliens (otsutsuki).

With the polices force examples, Yeah it's true that they killed a lot of horrible people, even if we take in account only the good police officers, however how many of those same officers didn't kill a innocent person by accident in duty because he thought is a criminal? That's why I said Superman in the base, the normal one, the idea one, killed if he deems it absolutely necessary, he killed lex Luthor, he killed zod and didn't go nuts and I remember there was a history not of injustice where he killed joker and was perfectly fine, however he didn't kill much more people or villains because he believes almost all of them can redeem themselves and this was proven a lot in the comics.
Choosing such a life scared him. It was by far the most challenging option. He'd have to live up to the expectations of millions, always striving to be better, to do more. That is not what Superman is supposed to be, look, I Will give you an example. spider-man making a deal with Mephisto to give his marriage and stop de birth of his future daughter un exchange of the Life of aunt may. spider-man, what he represents and what the writers before that made clear is that he would definitely turn Mephisto deal down, he would get Over It and live remembering his aunt, what he did was out of character. The same happens with Superman, the writers do something that he would not do, something that he doesn't represent and that he is not that easy to break because he is a symbol of hope, he is hope. All that Superman's that kill and became crazy are just stupid, they are not Superman, a real Superman? read All-Star Superman comics. He is the one that would stay with a teenager who tried to end herself for a entire day just to let her forget about such thoughts, even when he is actually dying.
